This solution is for you if you have alrady been learning coaching somewhere, formally. You might be a beginner or a certified coach, you might want to learn and practice more. You will be being coached by me. Bring a relevant topic, challenge or problem you wish to solve and we can work on it. The goal is to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to help others during your own coaching sessions.
You and I take a journey together. By walking on the path I support you to find your own solutions and gain confidence in coaching. To grow, we need to trust and accept each other. This first step of the coaching process helps us build up this rapport. Once we have this, as your TA Coach I can act like your sound board. I will ask questions, listen to you and say your answers out loud. I will honestly mirror what I hear from you. This helps you prepare yourself for reacting to the expectations of your environment in a more effective way by leaving your old, self-limiting beliefs and habits behind.
Our journey goes through "mountains". Before climbing them, we need to prepare for it. One of the most important steps of this preparation is to build trust. By having it, you will know that you can count on me and I will be standing on your side while climbing towards the summit. The preparation phase helps us understand how I can help you and what you are capable of and how you can participate in the coaching the coach process. While preparing and planning the journey we focus on five essential areas. FIRST, we get to know each other. Without mutual acceptance the success of the journey becomes questionable. SECOND, we need to get to know the key tasks. This helps us identify the possible challenges on the road. THIRD, we get to know each other's competencies, what we are capable of (and what we are not). We need to see if we are able to accomplish transparent, open communication to avoid games and hidden intentions. FOURTH, we make an agreement. This is what we call the contract. It summarizes the above mentioned elements. The contractual method is a key part of the success. FIFTH, we set clear goals. We work with goals we want to achieve during each session as well as a main goal you want to reach by the end of the coaching the coach process. These goals are continuously measured along the journey.
